Women on the Move

January 1, 1970
12:00AM-12:00AM
New York

In celebration of Women’s History Month and JPMorgan Chase’s commitment to supporting women’s economic empowerment, we are delighted to invite you to the launch of a new report and conversation with three prominent business leaders:

  • Julia Klein, CEO, C.H. Briggs, a leading national supply chain distribution company

  • Gail Mellow, President, LaGuardia Community College

  • Lauren Tyler, Global Head of Human Resources, J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Marianne Lake, CFO of JPMorgan Chase and Karen Persichilli Keogh, Head of Global Philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase, will introduce the event, which will be moderated by Lisa Kassenaar, Editor-at-Large, Bloomberg News. Heidi Hartmann, President and CEO, and Ariane Hegewisch, Program Director, Employment and Earnings, at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, will present the report findings.   Funded by JPMorgan Chase and conducted by the Institute for Women's Policy Research, the report looks at gender segregation in the traditionally male-dominated sectors of advanced manufacturing, IT and transportation, distribution and logistics. It finds that since the recession, there has been significant job growth in these industries, but the population of women filling good-paying, skills-based jobs has remained stagnant.   The conversation will focus on the barriers to success women face in the workplace and how we are progressing as a society. We hope you will join us!

Narrow the Wage Gap through Access to Good Jobs

Half of the gender wage gap is due to women working in different occupations and sectors than men. Improving women’s access to good middle-skill jobs can help close the wage gap and improve women’s economic security.
